"Garden of Ruins" explores the intersection of technology, human perception, and the evolving concept of reality. It draws inspiration from chaos and the transformative power of the digital realm, challenging traditional notions of space and reality.
At first glance, Garden of Ruins appears as a chaotic fusion of materials. The installation incorporates an array of diverse materials such as hard isolation foam, metal, wood, and found objects converge to create structures that push the boundaries of our architectural understanding.
“Garden of Ruins” is not static; it transforms, at times resembling a playful playground, at others evolving into a complex cityscape or even taking on the aura of ancient ruins.
The driving inspiration for "Garden of Ruins" emerges from the concepts of "liminal spaces" and "heterotopias." These ideas are the very essence of the project, pushing the boundaries of traditional place and space. This project seeks to represent those moments in life when we find ourselves neither here nor there, occupying an in-between state that defies clear definitions.
Beyond the physicality of "Garden of Ruins" lies a layered digital dimension. These digital components, include projections, TFT screens, and QR codes containing augmented reality elements to elevate the immersive experience.
THE FABRICATOR
This is the Fabricator. This character plays a crucial role in guiding visitors through the blueprint of the "Garden of Ruins". It serves as a virtual tour guide, leading individuals through the intricate details and design elements of the artwork. Through projections and strategically placed QR codes, the Fabricator provides step-by-step explanations, insights, and context about the blueprint. Visitors can interact with the QR codes by scanning them with their mobile devices, which then reveal digital content and information related to specific aspects of the blueprint. In essence, the Fabricator serves as a bridge between the blueprint and the "Garden of Ruins," providing the audience a detailed insight of the research behind the work.
